授業カリキュラム

1.Passport application

Upon entry to the Philippines, if the student stays for a month the passport should have six months validity period and at least two unused pages. Since there maybe situations where a passport is asked to be presented, it is convenient to bring a copy of the passport all the time.

2.Visa application

a. Visa is not needed if the stay is only 30 days. If you wish to stay more than 31 days, just follow the extension proceedings. Application for extension can be done every month or every other month depending on the immigration rules. The center takes charge of the procedures so you just need Philippine money for the cost.

3.Arrange airline tickets

There are available round trip flights to Manila International Airport. Just prepare and secure a flight ticket to the Philippines. You can get a ticket from the web or through your local travel agents. When booking on line, you can also take an e-tour of the center.

4.Clothes

Short sleeves are okay throughout the year but long sleeves are also good because there is a strong cooling system indoors. You can also wear sandals or anything comfortable in center. In places like the Immigration office, the casino, exclusive shops, etc., clothes other than sandals, tank top and such are required. Buying cheap local clothes is also recommended.

5.Philippine currency

a. The Philippine Peso (P) and centavo (¢) are the units of currency in the Philippines (P1 = ¢ 100). 1 peso is about 2.3 yen. There are P1000, P500, P200, P100, P50, P20 bills in circulation in the country and coins distributed are mainly P10, P5, P1, and ¢ 25. With regards to tips, P10 - P20 service charge per luggage is given to the porters at the airport and at the hotel while about 10% of the total bill is given in some retaurants, etc. if it is not yet included.

6.How to get (Philippine Peso) cash

a.Bring Japanese Yen
This is the best way to get Philippine peso is to bring Japanese yen and exchange it at a local money changer. There are also money changing offices at the airport although the rated there are a little low.
b.International cash card
atm If there is not enough cash for study period extension, etc., you can use the international cash card. By using the cash card, you can withdraw money from another country through local ATMs. We highly recommend cash cards from Shinsei Bank. The bank does not require any special procedures. Exchange rates are lower than the cash. So don’t spend too much money.
c.Credit Card
You can also use a credit card. Money can be withdrawn from any ATMs in the Philippines. It is then debited to the Japanese bank in yen with a certain due date. VISA and MASTER CARD is also widely used in the Philippines. Credit cards have interest rates so you should still be mindful of your spending.

7.Insurance

We recommend getting overseas travel accident insurance as much as possible. We recommend checking subscription estimates and cheaper plans from insurance companies. You should get a travel insurance at least 10 days before leaving.

8.Useful things you can bring

電子辞書
Electronic Dictionary
It is useful when checking out unfamiliar words. It is also better if it is a Japanese-English and English-Japanese dictionary. An installed thesaurus will also come in handy.


ノートパソコン Laptop
It can be useful in many ways such as for studying, information collection, contacting friends, saving data, music, DVD player. Remember to bring peripherals like LAN cable, video cable, or a USB cable.


デジタルカメラ Digital camera
A video camera is useful when taking pictures of beautiful places and good memories.


変圧器 Transformer
It is good to have a transformer since the voltage in the Philippines is 220v. You can buy one locally or bring one from Japan.


クレジットカード、国際キャッシュカード Credit card, international cash card
International cash cards with a "Cirrus" or "Plus" mark can be used in ATMs at almost all shopping centers. However, since cash cards charge fees, we recommend using credit cards instead when shopping.


常備薬 Medicine
Philippines are warm all year round, the average annual temperature is 26 - 27 ℃ about. Sometimes, it’s difficult to adjust to this climate. It would help to bring some medicine for cold, gastrointestinal, and headache.


勉強道具 Study tools
Vocabulary and grammar books are very useful. When studying you will also need notebooks, paper and pens that you are accustomed to.


水着 Swimsuit
There are many beautiful resort beaches in the Philippines. You can enjoy a day out at the beach with your classmates during holidays.
